# GLEC v3.1

## Summary of Framework Updates

The **GLEC Framework**, a standard for logistics emissions accounting and reporting, has been updated from **version 3** to **version 3.1**, with the new version published on **October 23, 2024**. This update reflects refinements to emissions calculation methodologies and expands upon previous frameworks to align with evolving industry standards.

### Main Updates in Version 3.1

1. **Air Freight**:
   * Updated to include **new emission factors** for calculations.
2. **Sea Freight**:
   * Revised emission factors.
   * Discontinued support for `"ferry_ropax_under_x_dwt"`.
   * Introduced new vessel types:
     * `"ferry_ropax_under_x_gt"`
     * `"roro_under_x_dwt"`
     * `"vehicle_under_x_gt"`
3. **Inland Waterways**:
   * Added **new emission factors** for better accuracy.
4. **Logistics Sites**:
   * Incorporated **new emission factors**.
5. **Rail Freight**:
   * Enhanced with **new emission factors**.
6. **Sea Freight (Clean Cargo)**:
   * Adopted **updated emission factors** to align with Clean Cargo methodologies.
7. **Road Freight**:
   * Included **new emission factors**.
   * Introduced **China-specific emission factors** for tailored regional applications.
